Very hot again today. Lewis Chase called at the store today and looked over the papers we had ordered from his line, Becker, Smith, and Page. We are always glad to see him. Harley and I took the 12-13 noon train for New York. Walked over to Fifth Ave. and took a 5th Ave. bus to the Hotel Pennsylvania. Met Mr. Matlack there and had a conference with him regarding our stocks of Atlas Paint. Came back uptown on the bus. Got our dinner at Hotel Commodore. Caught the six o'clock train for home. Tessie met me at the station. Aunt Alice, Miss. Smith, Lois, and baby Jane called today to see Sally and baby Jane. Grant Noble came out and took movies of Sarah, Peter, and Miss Burritt, the nurse. The Father and Son Banquet at the First Baptist Church, Meriden, at which I was to speak tonight was called on account of the fear of infantile paralysis epidemic.
