Thursday, September 24, 1931 A mighty change in temperature. Very cool this morning. Harley went to Springfield today. Took Franklin Clark with him. Home to dinner tonight and much to our delight, Sarah came downstairs to the dining room to dinner for the first time. She is gaining strength slowly but we hope surely. She is taking care of little Peter now with the help of her Mother and Olive. Today was so called "New Haven Day", a shopping event in the retail district. The Trolly Co. brought people down town between the hours of 9 and 11-30 A.M. free of charge. All stores had unusual bargains to offer and all report great crowds of shoppers.
