Monday, September 28, 1931 Very cool this morning. Showry. Tonight it cleared and grew colder. So much so that I lighted a fire in the furnace. We could not have the house too cold for "Peter Hodges". Went down town this noon and paid some bills. Got my lunch at the Waldorf Lunch on Church Street. Tessie brought the Packard to me at the store at six o'clock and I drove over to Branford to the meeting of the Rotary Club. District Governor Paul W. Kieser paid his official visit to the club. He had a fine speech. I drove home in twenty five minutes. Sarah is gaining strength daily and will soon be ready to travel West to her "Big Peter". We shall hate to have her go as well as Little Peter Hodges. An election in the Town of Hamden tonight sustained the choice of the Dixwell Ave. site for our new high school over the Meadow Brook Gold Club site.
