Tuesday, September 29, 1931 Very cold this morning, down to 38°. There was frost in some parts of Hamden. We were glad of our furnace fire. Very busy at the office clearing up the last details before going to Swampscott on Wednesday. Attended the meeting of the New Haven Rotary Club at Hotel Taft. Gaylord Douglass of Springfield spoke on an "International Mind". Attended a meeting of Finance Committee of Boys Scouts at five o'clock at scout headquarters, corner of Orange and Crown Streets. Tessie called for me and we came home for dinner. Ruth Chandler of New London is here with us for a few days. She is to teach at Miss Foote's school.
