Saturday, January 2, 1932 Went down to the office this morning. The first visit since December 19th. Found that the Wall Paper was coming in very well and that the inventory was all taken. So nice to come back and find things so well taken care of. Worked all the afternoon. Got my supper at Roots Bakery on Church Street then came home and wrote to Tessie. Rained hard all day. Found that while I had been away, the Broadway Bank had closed. The West Haven Bank also and the Union and New Haven Trust Co. had taken over the Congress Bank and that the two Branford Banks had united to give added strength.
