Thursday, January 21, 1932 Fine this morning but began to rain at noon which turned into a wet snow. Had breakfast at Longley's, lunch at P. Ring's, supper again at Longley's. Received a telegram from Tessie saying that she was leaving Chicago this afternoon and would arrive in Springfield tomorrow. I expect to go up and meet her. Shall be so glad to have her at home again. Mr. Chamberlain and I drove up to New Britain this afternoon. Called on Morgan Kingsley and Thompson and sold them the book line. Snowing hard all the way up and back. A Noble Ellis, a veteran of the New Haven Grays, died suddenly this morning. He was perhaps one of the most beloved of our veterans.
