Rained hard all day long. Went in to the store and had breakfast then took care of my mail. Then drove to Springfield, Mass. to meet Tessie, who will arrive at 12-53 from St. Paul, Minnesota. I drove up in two hours despite the rain. Tessie's train was right on time and I was so glad to see her. Mrs. Newell of Springfield met her too and we all had lunch together at "Hall's Galleries" then I went to the store and Mrs. Newell and Tessie went shopping. Later, I called for her at the Newell's and we drove down home together and had a good talk. She told me all about Sally and Peter and little Peter too. Home looked good to mother. Georgie had dinner all ready and my didn't it seem good to have dinner at home again with my "First Wife". Remarkable weather. Not a bit of ice or snow between here and Springfield.
