Rained hard all day up till about nine o'clock at night. Then it suddenly turned to snow and came down very fast till there was about four inches on the ground. I had intended going to Springfield today but Mrs. Wood is ill and did not come in so I stayed at the office. Tessie called for me at six and we had dinner at home. Then I went over to a Board Meeting of the Spring Glen Club. It lasted till 11-30 and when I came out, my car was nearly buried with snow. After I drove it into the garage, I shoveled a lot of snow of it so as not to have it melt and flood us out. We had a letter from Sally at St. Paul. She says they had three mornings with the thermometer 20° below zero.
