Pouring rain. Tessie took a sleep over. I took the car in town. Mrs. Wood still at home sick. Had lunch at P. Ring's. Dinner tonight at the Graduates Club, 155 Elm Street followed by a monthly meeting of the Executive Board of the Southern New Haven Council Boys Scouts of America. I presided as President. Tessie called me up this afternoon saying that she had just read in the paper that Mrs. Frank Chamberlain, our old neighbor on Norton Street, had died and wanted me to go out and see Mr. Chamberlain. I drove out and visited with him. Poor man. How he will miss her. She was a lovely woman.
