Wednesday, March 9, 1932 Colder this morning than yesterday. Down to 12° this morning. Bert Herrin at the store is sick so the fires were not properly taken care of and the whole building was so cold. The girls on the top floor could not work. Had lunch at P. Ring's. Went to Meriden with Harley to call on Chittenden's this afternoon. Worked till seven o'clock getting of my mail. Tessie called for me and we came home and had dinner. I worked all evening on Wall Paper Book records. No authentic news about the Lindbergh baby. The New Jersey Police are still holding "Red" Johnson and looking up every bit of history concerning Betty Gow, the baby's nurse.
