A great surprise this morning. The ground all covered with snow, which soon turned to rain and it has rained hard all day. I had Tessie sleep this morning and I took the car in town. Had George change the oil. Left about eleven o'clock and drove over to Madison, Conn. and spoke to the Rotary Club of Clinton - Madison - Guilford in the interest of the Master Painters Association of Connecticut. Came back and picked up Tessie. She in town took me back to the store and then called for Maud Smith and both went to Violette's musicale. Grace Walker Nichols gave the recital, ably assisted. Tessie said it was a lovely affair. Tessie called for me and went over to Pilgrim Tea House on Broadway and had dinner then came home and I worked on Wall Paper Records.
