A beautiful day all day long. Quite cool but clear and bright. Tessie drove in town with me this morning and went to the dentist. I had lunch at P. Ring's then rode out to Ansonia with Franklin Clark to visit Morris Gans display at the Home Beautiful show in the Armory. Tessie called for me tonight. We had dinner at home then drove back in town and went to Woolsey Hall to hear the Johnson Little Symphony Orchestra made up of children from eight to fifteen years old. My, how well they played. This huge auditorium was packed with people. Harley had a letter from Bert and Jess Hodges. They are now in Singapore, have not been in Shanghai since the Sino-Japanese War started. We are relieved to know they are safe.
