Note the caption on this page. Well, it has been anything but. The day began with gray sombre clouds that brought on a snow storm that covered the ground. Then it grew colder and turned the streets and roads to a sheet of ice, making walking and automobile driving a great hazard. Many cars were squished up in collision. Went down to Quinnipiack Club to dinner of Connecticut Paint Salesmens Club. Mr. Baxter of Hartford, who was to be the speaker, did not arrive at all on account of the slippery roads.
