Monday, March 28, 1932 Pouring rain all day long. Regular deluge. Our back garden inches deep in water as the water poured down Meadow Brook road. Floods of water in all streets. Tessie took me in this morning. We called for Dorothy Graner and Ann Waterhoase at their homes. Tessie then went out to the Hamden Town Court while the trial of George Olson, one of our shipping clerks was going, was going. He was arrested for reckless driving. She went on his bond. He was fined $25.00 on the reckless driving charge and $100.00 for being under the influence. Tessie came in town and we had lunch together. Then I went up to Calvary Church, loaded the flowers in the car, and delivered them to our sick and shut in members. Twenty pots of flowers. Took the largest to Violette. A big pot of hydrangea. 3 1/4 inches of rain fell in the past twenty four hours, a record since 1876.
