Thursday, March 31, 1932 Started out to be a nice day but began raining about ten A.M. then a regular deluge all day long after. I drove in to the office, took care of my mail, then started for the Springfield store, called for Tessie here and she went with me. We had lunch at Hotel Kimball. Tessie went through the stores while I was busy. We drove back home in the terrific storm of rain and wind. Got a hurried dinner at home then we both drove in to the Arena to our First Annual Boy Scout Circus. About 1800 scouts took part and the audience numbered about 3000. Quite a success for the first attempt.
