Tuesday, April 19, 1932 Clear and warmer. We got up at 5-30. Had breakfast and started at once for Springfield, Mass. and the Spring Conference of the 30th District Rotary International. We arrived and found our rooms all arranged for. Tessie joined a group of ladies and drove up to Amherst and had lunch at the Lord Jefry Inn. I went to the Presidents Round Table meeting. We held a luncheon meeting and all afternoon session and the big evening dinner. This is the first year that we have cut the conference to one day. Worked pretty well. The past district governors with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walther of San Antonio, Texas went up to Paul Kieser's room and had a party. Bill Root of Pittsfield was nominated for District Governor. Henry Cairns of Great Barrington withdrew his name.
