Thursday, May 5, 1932 Lovely day all day long. I got up early and took the car in town and reached the store at 7-30. Tessie rested this morning so I got breakfast in Longley's. I helped out down stairs as well as up stairs as we are working short handed. Had my supper down town then went up to the Armory to the annual meeting of the New Haven Grays Veterans Ass'n. We held the meeting and had the refreshments downstairs in the Mess Hall. Many expressions of regret were made at the loss of Noble Ellis, who had died since our last meeting.
