Another clear day. Things are drying up. We need rain badly to make the Spring vegetables come along. Rotary luncheon this noon at Hotel Taft Ball Room. Roy Westerfield of Yale U., one of our own members, spoke to us on the so called War Debts. It was a mighty fine talk and gave us a pretty good picture of the tangled financial situation. Tonight, I went down to Calvary Church to Ladies Night of the Mens Club. When I got there, I found that I was to be toastmaster, which was a big surprise. Fairly good turn out. Miss Burritt, the nurse who took care of Sarah when Peter was born, came to see him today. She thought he was fine. Our furnace fire went out today for the first time. It has been so cold. We could not let it out before.
