Saturday, May 28, 1932 A beautiful day. Cool and clear. Traffic very heavy through the city all day long. People going away for Sunday and Memorial Day on Monday. We had a store meeting today. Mr. Bradley of "Perryseal Co." spoke to the salesmen. Mr. Page and Mr. Fitch came down from the Springfield store. I was a bearer for Earl Winchell's funeral this afternoon at 1-30. Burial in East Haven. Then I went back to Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln's at 4-30 to the funeral of Mattie Chambers Cole. Peter, Sally, and Little Peter called for me at the store at 5 P.M. and we all came home in the Ford Coupe. Peter and I worked on the dahlia bulbs, getting them separated and sorted, ready for planting.
