Friday, June 17, 1932 Very misty this morning. Cloudy all day, clearing at night. This is Circus Day in New Haven. Barnum Bailey - Ringling Bros. They are showing on the Hamden Airport lot, Dixwell Ave., Hamden. I got up at 4-30 A.M. Called Sarah and Pete and we drove over to the lot to see them put up the tents. We arrived soon enough to see them unload the wagons off the trains. All most interesting. Pete and Sally took me down to the store and then went after Ed and Alice Cole and took them out to the grounds. After supper, we again went over to the grounds and stayed until they had taken down all the tents, including the "Big Top". It was a marvelous exhibition of efficiency.
