Very warm again today but the air has been perfectly clear so it has not been as hard to stand. Tessie took me in this morning in the Packard then continued on down to Norwalk to Cousin Alice Lockwood's to bring Sarah and Little Peter back home. I had my lunch at the Waldorf on Chapel at High Streets. I had an errand on Temple St. and saw a group of Federal Prohibition Agents raid a speakeasy run by Fitzgerald and Malone. Drove Harley's Packard up to Meriden this afternoon to call on H.M. Chittenden Inc. Home to dinner tonight, finished hoeing the dahlias, and watered them with the hose. The National Tradesmens Bank closed its doors this morning, leaving but four commercial banks open out of thirteen that were in business less than a year ago.
