Clear to about 10 A.M. Began to rain and rained hard till about four P.M. then cleared off. It was too bad that we could not have had a fine day for the holiday. Tessie and I have spent the day quietly alone. Sarah and Little Peter aways in Stockbridge with Pete. I drove in to the store this morning to get some papers. Stopped to see Violette on the way back. She told me of Lota's wonderful opportunity to go up to Middlebury, Vermont for the Summer training on organ and bells. She so much deserves this great chance. T.P.H. and I drove out to Mt. Carmel and bought some plants and came home and planted them. We had our supper up in the living room listening to the radio.
