Tuesday, July 5, 1932 Another beautiful day. Clear and cool. Back to work today after two days, holidays. Attended New Haven Rotary Club meeting in the Ball Room of the Hotel Taft. Arthur Nabsted, our new president, presided for the first time. Mrs. Mary Lewitt Mitchell spoke to us on "Washington's visit to New Haven". It was a fine address. I walked up to 621 Elm Street and called on Irving Bailey, a young friend of mine who is at home ill with "T.B." He is a brilliant boy and so loveable. Tessie called for me at the office at six and we drove up to Skiff Street and paid Mr. Ibsen for some carpentry work he did for us here. We had dinner together and afterwards watered the flower beds.
