Up early this morning and in to the office after being in New York all week. Another very hot day. I found that Mrs. Wood had taken care of things at the office nicely as usual. Harley reported that business has been very quiet and collections worse. We closed at one o'clock. I came home and helped Tessie take care of Peter and watered the lawn and flowers. Everything is so badly burned up. We had a sharp thunder shower about ten o'clock. Not much rain fell.
