Monday, July 25, 1932 Very warm again today and no rain. Up early. Did not go in to the office but drove up to Hartford to the Hotel Bond and attended the District Assembly of the 30th Rotary District. William C. (Bill) Root of Pittsfield, Mass., the new District Governor presided. I spoke on the subject of "Club Service" and when at noon we of the assembly joined the Hartford at their weekly luncheon, Mike Connor, president of the Hartford Club, asked me to make a five minute talk on "New Members". We held an afternoon session and a dinner meeting at night. We had about 125 presidents, secretaries, and committee chairmen. A very large attendance.
