A most welcome change in the weather. Air is much clearer and not quite so hot. We closed the store at one o'clock. I drove up to Frank's fruit store, corner of Elm and Howe Streets, and bought one of his good watermelons and took it home. Had lunch with Tessie, Sarah, and little Peter. I spent the afternoon pruning our dahlias. Came in, took a bath, and dressed for supper. Henry Jones came over and we worked on the Boy Scouts budget for presentation to the Community Chest.
