Sarah twenty-eight years old today (it doesn't seem possible). It has been a beautiful day all day long. Clear and cool. Auntie "B", Lou Bill, Alice Drew Lockwood, and Auntie Violette came to see Sarah on her birthday and of course they enjoyed little Peter too. Mother had a fine dinner for us tonight. Steak, mashed potato, squash, pineapple salad, ice cream, and Sally's own special birthday cake with yellow frosting and pink candles. We were very happy being together on this special day and wished for her long life and happiness. Mother and I gave her some simple gifts. A new dictionary, silk stockings, etc. Not much money to spend this year.
