Very hot and humid today. The humidity was up to 75 this forenoon and thermometer rose to 86° and strange as it may seem, it was hottest at seven o'clock tonight. Harley and I went to New York on the eleven o'clock D.S.T. train. Had lunch in the Grille Room of the Hotel Commodore. We then took the subway to Fulton St. and the Hudson Tube under the river to Jersey City and a taxi out to the Robert Griffin factory. We had a nice conference with Mr. Green of the United W.P. Factories. Arranged our payments and for the line for next year. Came back the Grand Central. Caught the five o'clock (standard) train for home. had our dinner on the train. I came out home on the trolly. Found Truman and Bertha Beckley here calling.
