Sunday, August 14, 1932 A beautiful Summer day. The sun very warm but a cool, clear breeze. We all had breakfast together. I drove in town to church at Calvary. Mr. Binkley preached as Mr. Blanton is on his vacation. Will return the first Sunday in September. We had dinner at home then Tessie, Sarah, little Peter, and his grandfather got in the old Packard and drove up to Newtown and called on the A.C.T. Beers family. They have a lovely place up there. It was a beautiful drive up and back along the banks of the Housatonic River. We had our supper here when we got home. Dear little Peter was so tired and hungry but he was such a good little sport. Never made a bit of fuss.
