Saturday, August 20, 1932 A lovely Summer day. Drove in to store, took care of my mail, then came out home, got Tessie and our bag, and started for Springfield store. Went up via College Highway. Arrived about noon. Drove from there over to Paul Kieser's office in West Springfield. Left our car there, transferred to his car. He took us to lunch then we all drove to Blandford, Mass. to their new cottage, "High Acres" on the mountaintop. Found Portia and Pat and "Bobbie" there to welcome us. He has a most wonderful spot, a view for miles of hills around. Later, we went down to a nice lake and went in swimming. I wore Portia's bathing suit. We had dinner then sat around a big fire in the fireplace in the living room.
