Awoke this morning at the Kieser's cottage, "High Acres", in the Blandford, Mass. hills. It is gorgeous here today, clear and warm. After breakfast, we went for an auto ride that ended in a hike down to an old mika mine. After dinner, we sat around and helped entertain Paul and Portia's callers, of whom there were 14, including Mr. and Mrs. Mellon Whitney of Springfield. I helped Paul saw down a big fine tree that had been killed by fire. We cut one down yesterday. We had a picnic supper out on the veranda. I treated to two quarts of ice cream later. We all sat out on the porch and watched the lights glow in Springfield, 25 miles away. We have had such a nice day with these dear friends.
