Saturday, August 27, 1932 Tessie, Alice Drew Lockwood, and little Peter took me in to the office this morning. We had a nice ride in. We received a wire from Bert in New York telling us that he would arrive in New Haven at 12-48 Standard Time. Tessie and I went down to meet him and brought him out home. Sally and little Peter were here to greet him. He too thinks Peter is a fine boy. We had lunch then Sally and Peter and I took him over to Auntie Violette's, where he had a nice visit. I went up to Ed Webster's house and got Alice Drew Lockwood and brought her down so as to have dinner with Bert and us. We did have such a happy time. Later in the evening, Sally, Alice, and I took him down to Harley's house for the night. Jessie did not come over with him. She is staying with her mother in England and will join Bert in Singapore.
