Sunday, August 28, 1932 Harley and Alice were to take Bert Hodges to Aunt Mame's in Gardner, Massachusetts today. We all slept late. Alice Drew Lockwood spent the night with us. We had breakfast then I took her up to Etta Weed's at Mt. Carmel. Little Peter rode up and back with me. Mother got dinner and we all four had it together. Mother, Sally, little Peter, and me. Later, Sarah, little Peter, and I drove over to East River to call on the Stones. It is Nancy's Birthday today. Peter was such a fine boy. So good and patient. Sally and I had a good talk about their situation in St. Paul. This is big Peter's birthday too so Sarah called him on the phone and had a nice chat with him.
