Eclipse of the sun today at 3-30 Standard Time. It was so cloudy that we could see but a bit of it. It was to be about 97% total here. It was total in New Hampshire and Eastern Maine. We all went up on the roof of the York St. building but it was not very clear. Bert Hodges went out to Richmond's to tea. Lota Curtiss there with them then they called at the store for me and brought me out home. Bert had dinner and spent the night with us. It was such a joy to have him. Sally, Tessie, and I had a good visit with him. Tessie drove up to West Hartford and brought her Uncle Gene down for dinner and the night. Peter is coming down from Stockbridge after the show.
