Peter arrived from Stockbridge about 2-30 A.M. in a driving rain storm. We all got up at six o'clock and had breakfast early with Bert Hodges. We took him in to the station to catch the 8 o'clock train for New York. Harley and Franklin were there and Violette and Lota came down also to bid him goodbye and Godspeed. Tessie took Uncle Gene up to Wallingford. I came home to dinner. Tessie and little Peter came in for me. After dinner, I drove over to the Armory on Goffe Street and, with my committee, mailed out the notices for the 116th Anniversary of the New Haven Grays. Jon Hedges, Jack Dyer, and Roe Bailey also three Actives assisted me.
