Much relief this morning from the awful humidity of yesterday. The sun is very hot but the air is clear. Tessie and little Peter took me in this morning and we closed at one o'clock for the last time this Summer. I came home to lunch and after the dishes were done and put away, I gathered a large basketful of dahlias and we all four drove in to the New Haven Hospital and Sarah and I went in to see Marion Beckley Munson, who is there with a little daughter. Mother and little Peter waited outside. We went from there out to Mr. Frank Chamberlain's and visited with him. We met his housekeeper and Miss Hurburt came over from across the street. Sarah had a nice talk with Mr. Chamberlain and she told him how much she appreciated Mrs. Chamberlain's bequest.
