Tuesday, September 6, 1932 Very hot and muggy this morning but the wind changed at noon and it is quite cool tonight. Mother and I took little Peter in with us. When she took me in this morning, he was so happy to go with us. District Governor Bill Root made his official visit to the New Haven Rotary Club today. Elizabeth came with him and Tessie and Sally met her at the Taft and took her down to Wilcox's for lunch. Don Adams and I sat at the head table with Bill and Arthur Nabstedt. Don told me of his efforts to reopen the Mechanics Bank, that was closed on June Ninth of this year. Sarah busy packing their belongings to start for St. Paul, Minn. on Thursday morning. We do hate so to see them go.
