Saturday, September 10, 1932 Still very cool. Thermometer down to 48° this morning. We kept open today till five P.M. The first time since Summer closing. Quite busy in the Wall Paper department. Tessie called for me at five o'clock and we went up to the cemetery and filled the vases with dahlias from our own garden. Doris and Mother and Father Peck's. Tessie arranged them so carefully. We came home and had supper. We have not heard from Peter or Sarah. They must be nearing Chicago by now. They expected to reach that city tomorrow afternoon.
