Sunday, September 11, 1932 Cool this morning but a most brilliant sunshine all day. We slept late this morning. I took my bath, had breakfast. I drove the Packard in town. Took Charlie Gerner in to the Armory with some flowers then went down to the First Methodist Church for our New Haven Grays 116th Anniversary Memorial Service. A big turnout of Actives and about sixty vets. Dr. Lackland had a wonderful sermon for us. Met at the Armory again this afternoon and marched to Grove Street and Evergreen Cemeteries and decorated the graves of our members burned there. Also placed a special wreath at the war memorial on the Green. We called up the Welby's in Chicago tonight. Sally and the two Peters had arrived there this afternoon on their way to Mason City, Iw. and St. Paul, Minn.
