Friday, September 23, 1932 A beautiful Fall day. I took the Packard in town. Took care of my mail then called here for Tessie and drove up to the Springfield store. We went up the College Highway and the Autumn tints were beginning to show. The Eastern States Exposition is on this week in Springfield and great crowds are there. I went in to the meeting of the Springfield Rotary Club. Met Paul Kieser and had a little visit with him. Tessie had her lunch in the Picwick Room of the Kimball. On our way home, we stopped a minute at the Kieser's. Saw Portia and the girls. Came on home. Then Henry Jones and I went up and called on Fred Dawless and enlisted his help in our Boys Scouts work.
