Thursday, September 29, 1932 A beautiful day today, cool and clear. Yale University opened today with a freshmen class of 848. The new Payne Whitney Gymnasium is now open and occupied by all Yale athletes. I made a tour of inspection through it this afternoon. It certainly is most complete. Harley went home this noon to take care of his eye. Dr. Blake says he has an ulcer on it. Tessie called for me tonight at six and we had dinner at home. The New York and Chicago teams played again today in the World Series at New York and the New York American League team won again today for the second straight game. Both teams travel to Chicago tomorrow and play there Saturday and Sunday, also Monday if a fifth game is necessary.
