Monday, October 3, 1932 Much warmer today. Tessie took me in town this morning. I cleared my desk then borrowed Mr. Chamberland's car and drove over to Saybrook to the meeting of the Rotary Club. Spoke to them on "Club Service". Drove back to the store. It was a beautiful drive. The sunshine was brilliant and the water of Long Island Sound just sparkled. The ground foliage along the stone walls has turned in to the brilliant fall colors. Just a joy to be out of doors. Harley has his eye in a bandage now. Dr. Blake tells him is is an ulcer. Tessie took Maud Smith in the Packard and drove over to Madison, Conn. to a meeting of "New England Women".
