Beautiful day today but much colder since the heavy rain of yesterday. I drove in town this morning, took care of my mail, met Fred Skeen of the Geo D. Wetherill Co. also Mr. Valentine of Ronkonkoma Co. called at the house here for Tessie and drove up to the Springfield store. Went via Cheshire, Plantsville, Southington, Plainsville, Farmington, to Hartford, then up the West side of the river to Springfield. We had lunch at Hotel Kimball then Tessie went out Mrs. Newell's and heard all about her trip to Sweden to see Muriel + Baby Newell. We came home via Hartford, Meriden, and Wallingford. I cut and took in this morning a large basket of dahlias. Violette called for them and took them over to New Haven Hospital to Sally Walden Curtiss and baby "Dick".
