Tuesday, October 11, 1932 Very damp and cool this morning and quite cool tonight. So much so that I finally started the fire in the furnace. This is as late as we have held off for some years. I picked some of our nicest dahlias and took them over to Sally Curtiss at the New Haven Hospital and called to see her. She looks fine and expects to go home on Sunday. I attended the luncheon of the New Haven Rotary Club this noon. Spencer Berger spoke on his experiences in the ocean race to Bermuda. Tessie went over to Guilford to the meeting of the Dorothy Whitfield Society. Violette has just called us on the telephone and told us that Uncle Charlie had a shock today.
