A beautiful day, warm and sunshiney. This is Tessie's birthday. I could not give her a very fine gift this year but I did give a pair of silk stockings. We both went to church then I took her out to "Sol's Path" to dinner. This is a most unique place on the Middletown Turnpike. After dinner, we drove up to Newington and called on the Hanbury's. They were so glad to see us. When we arrived home, we found that the Knapps had called to see Tessie and brought her some apples and preserves. Also Esther Faile had brought her some chrysanthemum. It was so thoughtful of them.
