Friday, November 4, 1932 Another fine Fall day. Harley went to Newark, N.J. today. Had a fine conference with Mr. Charles Rho of the Murphy Varnish Co. He wants to be helpful. We are so grateful to him. Tessie called at the N.H. Hospital to see Betty Lane King and took a little dress for the baby. From there, she went out and had tea with Ed and Alice Cole at West Chapel Street. I had supper tonight at Calvary Church. A teachers meeting followed. From there, I stopped in at Woolsey Hall where a rally was being held by the Yale Republican Club. Walter Edge, senator from New Jersey, was one of the speakers. Hiram Bingham of Conn. was the other. I reached home in time to hear a part of President Hoover's speech at St. Louis. Followed on the radio by Governor Roosevelt and Al Smith at a democratic rally in Brooklyn, N.Y.
