Wednesday, November 23, 1932 Coldest morning of the Winter so far. Thermometer 18° above zero this morning. Tessie took me in town this A.M. and waited while George Hyde put alcohol in the radiator. She went down to St. Paul Church and helped deliver baskets of food to the poor for Thanksgiving. She called for me tonight and we had dinner at home. Then I drove over to the Armory on Goffe Street to a Thanksgiving party of the New Haven Grays. Watched the Company drill. The whole drill manual was been changed. Then a program of boxing and music. Then a roast beef supper. We received a letter from Sally at St. Paul telling us that little Peter received his football and took a lot of interest in it.
