Mr. Buckingham, Harley, and I took the eleven o'clock train for New York. I sat with Mrs. Jack Edgerly all the way down. She was on her way to New Jersey to the funeral of her brother in law. We had lunch in the Commodore Hotel lunch room. Then took the subway down to Brooklyn Bridge and walked down Broadway to the office of The National Lead Co., 111 Broadway. Mr. Matlack and Mr. Hawk of the Geo D. Wetherill, Mr. Rho and his auditor of the Murphy Var. Co. and Mr. Sidford and Mr. Tucks of the National Lead Co. We talked till 4-30. Then Mr. Buckingham took us up to Roxy's. We had a lunch up there, saw Will Pagers in "To Busy to Work". Heard the orchestra play Overture to William Tell. Came to New Haven on the eight o'clock train out of New York. A helpful day.
